Fall is such a blissful time of year… this fall is no exception!  Temperatures have been perfect; warm during the day and cool enough at night to catch the breezes through your window while catching some z’s!  The fall season also brings back fond memories about our adventures in New England while residing on the east coast.

Although Minnesota boasts a much different landscape than New England, one thing is certain this year - the fall colors are already brilliant, apple orchards are in full swing, bonfires are burning bright, and I’ve already started incorporating comfort foods in our dinner routine to nurture our souls for the cold months ahead.

Comfort foods go beyond dinner time by including ample ‘sweet treats’ for three growing teenage boys. I read in a book about raising boys that a way to man’s heart is through his stomach and by golly, I believe every ounce of it!  In our house, it is not uncommon to see a pan of brownies or Rice Krispies treats disappear in less than 24 hours.

Here are a few cherished ‘sweet treat’ recipes in our house…give one a try!
