don’t knock it ’til you try it

This crazy concoction is another “treasure” from my childhood! I could never get any of my friends to try this when I was growing up, despite my assurances that it was so delicious. And that’s pretty much been the case as an adult as well, but luckily my kids love it! So I asked Ava what to say about this recipe and she said, “This sounds like an odd recipe, but it’s actually really good, so don’t judge it until you’ve tried it.” My thoughts exactly!

SERVES 10 - HANDS-ON 10 MINUTES  - TOTAL 10 MINUTES

Ingredients

1 large ripe banana

2 teaspoons good-quality mayonnaise or Miracle Whip

Ground cinnamon, to taste

Instructions

  1. Peel the banana, and slice in half lengthwise.

  2. Spread cut sides with the mayonnaise, and sprinkle with cinnamon.

TIP: Good-quality mayo is important here. My favorite is Duke’s mayonnaise.
