What's better than a fresh blackberry crisp? Pretty much nothing! This delicious dessert is packed with sweet blackberries and topped with the perfectly crisp oat topping. Serve with your favorite vanilla bean ice cream for a treat you'll make time and time again.

Ingredients

For the topping: • 1 1/2 cup old-fashioned or quick oats • 1 cup all-purpose flour • 1 cup brown sugar • 1/4 teaspoon salt • 1 cup butter, cut into small pieces For the fruit: • 8-10 cups fresh blackberries, washed and dried • 1/3 cup granulated sugar • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Instructions

Step 1

Begin by preheating the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2

In a mixing bowl, combine the oats, flour, brown sugar, and salt.

Step 3

Using a pastry blender (or forks if you don't have one), add the butter and combine until the mixture is crumbly. Place aside.

Step 4

In another mixing bowl, add the blackberries, sugar, flour, and lemon juice. Stir until coated.

Step 5

Then, lightly grease a 9x13-inch pan and place the fruit mixture on the bottom. Top with the oat mixture.

Step 6

Bake for 45 minutes, or until the fruit is bubbling and the crisp topping has turned a golden brown.

Step 7

Allow the crisp to rest for 10-15 minutes before you serve. Enjoy with your favorite ice cream or some homemade whipped cream!
