Staple piece of clothing: Fall is when I slip into great leather dress boots.
Random food: Oatmeal season begins and I like to experiment – usually on the fly – with fresh fruit, nuts, warm spices, maple syrup and even butter.
Artwork: A lot of my personal art is mid-century modernist in style, especially abstract expressionist pieces in paintings and prints.
Decor item: I've been obsessing over miniature pottery pieces, all studio made and many from the 1950s and 1960s (the mid-century period was fertile for pottery artists). I keep extras pieces in my collection and switch things up from time to time to keep it interesting. I enjoy tinkering with shapes, color and texture.
Travel destination: Autumn in New York. Where else? A favorite haunt is Mood Fabrics, made famous in the TV series "Project Runway" but a place for design inspiration in its own right – and year-round.
Piece of furniture: When the weather gets colder, let me slip into a tall back lounge chair to read a good book. Like these vintage Model 401 Easy Chairs from master designer Alvar Aalto and available at MidModMen+friends.
