by Ardith Beveridge, Tastemaker in Residence

Ingredients
Log container
4" Bromeliad plant
5" plastic liner
1/3 block floral foam
Small log
Sheet moss
Kiwi vine or other interesting curling branch
Large leaf such as aspidistra or hosta
1 stem two-toned foliage I used Golden grevillea
2 stems plumosa or other airy foliage
1 stem yellow kangaroo paws
1 echeveria

Instructions

  1. Set plant and soaked floral foam in its own liner, into a large container
  2. Use large leaf to cover the top of the floral foam. Lay the small log across and secure with wire or heavy pins.
  3. Insert tall interesting branches through the leaf into the foam. Continue to add the kangaroo paws (or dad's favorite flower) and the other foliage.
  4. Add the succulent using floral adhesive or toothpicks inserted into the bottom.
  5. Use fresh moss to cover the top of the plant pot and any exposed floral foam.
