Spirited Spotlight on Table 301 Restaurant Group
by Cindi Sutter, Founder of The Spirited Table®
Carl Sobocinski moved to South Carolina from Durham, New Hampshire to pursue an architectural degree at Clemson University. After graduating with a BA in design, he decided that his true calling was in the hospitality industry- that is when he decided to open Soby’s New South Cuisine at the ripe age of 26. Carl’s goal in opening this restaurant was to see to each guest’s needs and exceed all expectations they had when walking through the door. That attitude, his business savvy sense and his passion for people have brought him a long way. He is now the owner of Table 301 Restaurant Group, which consists of 7 restaurants (including Soby’s), a food truck, and a successful catering business.
Soby’s New South Cuisine – revolves around the traditional aspects of Southern cuisine while bringing a new spin to old favorites. It is the longest standing upscale restaurant in downtown Greenville and a favorite of locals and visitors alike.
The Lazy Goat – features a “made from scratch” menu that showcases flavors from around the world including Spain, Morrocco, Italy, France, Greece, Africa and the Middle East. Utilizes the shared plate concept to allow each diner a flavorful and filling meal alongside exceptional service.
Nose Dive – a laid-back atmosphere paired with high quality “pub fare,” handmade cocktails, a distinctive wine list, and handcrafted brews makes this gastropub the perfect community spot to hang out with old neighbors and meet some new ones, too.
Soby’s on the Side – A deli-bakery that serves up breakfast, lunch, and a selection of baked goods, SOS always smells like heaven and the quaint & cozy atmosphere makes it a perfect meeting place any day of the week.
Passerelle Bistro – dreamed up in the mind of Chef Teryi Youngblood, this restaurant offers a stunning patio overlooking Falls Park and the Reedy while serving up delectable French cuisine in a fashion that is authentic but still approachable for the every day diner.
Southern Pressed Juicery – Table 301’s first ever raw, organic, cold-pressed juice bar serves as a fresh alternative to your local coffee shop. Stop in for some grab n’ go juice or stay awhile and enjoy the handmade breakfast bowls and smoothies.
Papi’s Tacos – born out of the authentic Mexican cooking of a long-time Table 301 employee, Papi brought his talents to this “food truck without wheels” that serves up the best tacos, tortas, salsas and chips in town.
